WeKnowBristol is a simple, static guide site. We collect very little about you, we don't sell your data to anyone, and we don't run advertising trackers that follow you around the web. This page explains, in plain English, what that means.
What we collect
- Newsletter: if you sign up for our email, we store your email address for the sole purpose of sending you the newsletter. Nothing else, and never passed to third parties for marketing.
- Server logs: like almost every website, our host (Cloudflare) processes standard technical information such as your IP address and browser type to serve pages and keep the site secure. This is routine and not used to identify you personally.
- Corrections and messages: if you email us, we keep your message so we can reply and fix what you've flagged.
We do not set advertising cookies, sell data, or build a profile of you.
Your choices and rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. For the newsletter, every email includes a one-click unsubscribe, and you can leave whenever you like. To make any request, email hello@weknowbristol.com.
Changes to this notice
If we add anything that changes how we handle data (for example, analytics or a new form), we'll update this page and its date first. This is a plain-English summary rather than formal legal advice; if you need the precise legal basis for a specific purpose, ask us.
Who to contact
Questions about privacy go to hello@weknowbristol.com. For who we are and the ownership behind the site, see about WeKnowBristol and our transparency page.
