WeKnowBristol is a city guide to Bristol, written by people who actually live here. We cover the things residents and visitors really ask about: getting around, parking, where to eat and drink, nightlife, neighbourhoods and days out. The aim is simple, to be the most useful, honest guide to the city, and to be worth citing.
How we work
Four rules shape every page:
- We walk it and price it. Where we can, we go and check, and we quote real prices and real times, not "affordable" or "in no time".
- We date everything. Every price and fact carries the month we checked it, so you can see how fresh it is.
- We name the alternative. If the bus is cheaper than the taxi, or a rival does it better, we say so. A guide that only ever points one way is an advert.
- We correct mistakes in public. Cities change. When we get something wrong or out of date, we fix it and say we did.
What we cover
Transport and getting to Bristol Airport, parking and the Clean Air Zone, food and drink by neighbourhood, nightlife, the city's areas, and the things to do that locals actually rate. We also run an annual Bristol Taxi Price Survey, pricing the same journeys across operators and printing the lot.
The bit we put on the table
WeKnowBristol is published by the Tick Taxi group, which runs airport transfers in the area. We think you should know that before you read a word, which is why it's on every page and set out in full on our ownership and transparency page. It's also why we're so strict about naming competitors and pricing them fairly: the moment we start hiding rivals, you've no reason to trust anything we print.
