Ashton Gate: no stadium parking, full stop
Ashton Gate Stadium, home to Bristol City FC and Bristol Bears Rugby, states plainly that there is no matchday parking available at the stadium. There's also no designated drop-off or pick-up point at or near the ground. If you're being dropped off by car or taxi, the club recommends doing so at least half a mile away and walking the rest, since the roads immediately around the stadium get busy and some, including Winterstoke Road and the A370, are clearways with no stopping allowed. Resident parking schemes and road closures also come into force around the ground on matchdays, so don't expect to find a convenient side street either.
Getting to Ashton Gate without a car
- Walking: the stadium is a genuinely walkable distance from much of the city: roughly 50 minutes from Bristol Temple Meads, 20 minutes from Parson Street station, 30 minutes from Clifton Village and 35 minutes from the Harbourside and city centre.
- Train: Parson Street station is the nearest, about 20 minutes' walk from the ground.
- Bus: Ashton Gate is well served by public buses from the centre, and First Bus also runs dedicated supporter services timed around Bristol Bears matches from the Portway and Brislington Park and Ride sites and from Temple Meads via Broadmead and the centre. These matchday services use their own tickets, so a normal First Bus day ticket or pass won't get you on them.
- Cycling: there are 96 bike racks at the stadium plus a free-to-use bike pump, and dedicated cycle paths connect much of the city to the ground. E-scooters aren't allowed onsite and need to be parked in a designated area outside instead.

The Memorial Stadium: limited, and often full
Home to Bristol Rovers, the Memorial Stadium sits off Muller Road, within easy reach of Gloucester Road. The club is upfront that parking at the ground itself is not available on matchdays and that parking in the immediate vicinity is often not possible either. There is some street parking nearby, but it fills up and isn't guaranteed, especially for bigger fixtures.
If you do find street parking, Muller Road itself is a popular choice, as is Gloucester Road, though the latter is often harder to find a space on. Beyond that, the roads on the far side of Gloucester Road, past the Wellington pub along Kellaway Avenue, are another area supporters commonly use. - Walking: most people arriving from Gloucester Road or Bishopston can walk down to Filton Avenue, where the stadium sits.
- Bus: the nearest stops are on Filton Avenue, within about 50 metres of the ground, served by routes including 70, 72 and 74, with 17, 75, 76 and 3X also useful from the top of Gloucester Road.
- Train: the nearest station is Ashley Down, roughly a 20-minute walk away, with services to Temple Meads and Gloucester. Filton Abbey Wood and Montpelier are the next-nearest options.
